Teknologi Samsung Up-Scale disertakan pada SH-B123L yang berfungsi untuk membuat DVD dapat menampilkan resolusi tinggi dan detail yang kaya akan warna.

Samsung SH-B123L ber-type Combo yang mengkombinasikan BD-ROM untuk membaca Blue-ray Disc 8x dan DVD Writer yang mampu melakukan write 16x pada keping DVD, read CD-ROM 48x serta bisa melakukan proses write 24x pada format CD-RW. Samsung SH-123L dapat dikoneksikan pada PC melalui interface SATA dengan buffer memory sebesar 2 MB.
